Structured Data Extractionfrom CAD Toolkits

Turn Engineering Model Information into Structured Data.

A CAD toolkit-based extraction workflow that captures dimensions, tolerances, GD&T, and other technical model information and organizes it into structured CSV data for downstream engineering use.

Project Overview

Engineering Automation Built Around a Real Production Workflow.

Valuable engineering information is often embedded inside CAD models, annotations, dimensions, tolerances, and manufacturing definitions. Manually collecting this information is time-consuming and can make large-scale technical review or reporting difficult.

This project automates the extraction and structuring of that model information. By using CAD toolkit access and organized tagging, the workflow converts technical design data into a reusable format that can support quality checks, planning, validation, and wider engineering-data processes.

Project Focus

Core Solution Capabilities

Automated CAD Data Extraction

Cadster developed a CAD data extraction system that captures important engineering information directly from CAD models. This reduces manual data collection and improves access to technical model details.

Dimensions, Tolerances, and GD&T

The solution extracts dimensions, tolerances, GD&T specifications, and related model information. Structured tagging helps engineering teams review and validate design data more efficiently.

CSV Data for Engineering Analysis

The extracted information is organised into structured CSV files for downstream analysis and reporting. This supports quality checks, manufacturing planning, design validation, and engineering data automation.

Engineering Workflow

From Engineering Input to Controlled Output.

The project workflow is structured to reduce repeated manual operations while keeping the engineering process clear, reviewable, and suitable for production use.

01

Read CAD Model Data

Access model information through the available CAD toolkit and identify the technical data required for extraction.

02

Extract Engineering Attributes

Capture dimensions, tolerances, GD&T specifications, and related model information.

03

Structure & Tag Data

Organize the extracted information into consistent fields that are easier to review and process.

04
